Accessible Public Transport Action Plan 2020-24
The Victorian Government is reducing barriers to accessing public transport. We’re planning for the future and investing $70 billion in new and upgraded transport infrastructure for everyone.
The Accessible Public Transport Action Plan 2020-24 outlines how we’re continuing to eliminate barriers to public transport journeys.
This action plan complements and supports other Government plans, including Absolutely Everyone: State disability plan 2017-2020, Getting to work: Victorian public sector disability employment action plan 2018–2025, and Every Opportunity: Victorian economic participation plan for people with disability 2018-2020.
The action plan was developed in consultation with the Department of Transport and Planning, Commercial Passenger Vehicles Victoria and public transport operators and advocates, and the Victorian Government will continue consultation for the next state disability plan 2021-2024.
The action plan sets out the steps the Victorian Government is taking to improve access to public transport and contributes to the Victorian State Disability Plan 2013-2016 and complies with the Federal Government's Disability Discrimination Act 1992.
This action plan is important as review of the plan is taken into consideration by the Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission when investigating complaints of discrimination.
